I just thoght I would make a quick post to explain my absence. Well actually the ‘creative juices’ weren’t really flowing before this anyway. So taking another of my frquent breaks. I’m sure I will be back though

Firstly I apologize for my lax posting schedule of late. I have been, and probably will be for a bit, distracted with other things. That said this weekend I have had a busy schedule shooting for My wife’s cousin’s their children.
I also shot some family photos for my wife’s sisters family.

I have seen this done a lot and wanted to give it a try. My creative juices haven’t been flowing lately but I decided to just pull the camera out and play a bit tonight even if it isn’t original it is interesting

I shot this for November 22, 2010 Flickr Group “Macro Mondays” theme. The Theme was 7 deadly sins. I am guessing this could go for a few of the sins but my thoughts were on Greed when I decided to go this route.

I decided to play with the toothbrush macro some more. It occured to me my other ones were trying to keep a lot of DOF. I thought it would look neat to use a shallow DOF to make the tips of the bristles appear that they were floating in mid air. Again I have said it before, I’ll say it again. I am easily amused.

Shot for Macro Monday’s Strictly Textures theme though now that I look at it I am not convinced it fits the theme completely.. Clearly it has a texture; just not sure that is the subject of the photo. I haven’t decided if I am going to put it in the group or not. That said I like how it turned out. In case it isn’t obvious this is an extreme closeup of a new tooth brush. I used my 100mm macro lens along with 68mm of extension tubes to get this close. I had my 580exii on ettl mode behind the brush backlighting it.

This is really just a photographic exercise for me. I am not a huge fan or anything; and honestly on any given Sunday I couldn’t tell you if my city’s team won or lost. But I saw this old, and I might add flat, football lying around the house and thought I would try to make something of it for my photo today.
