Day 51 of 365 – Overpowering The Sun
Since I first watched the Strobist DVD series I have been meaning to try this. It is more of a technical challenge than anything for me. I had two strobes aimed at the subject at 1/2 power each gelled CTO triggered with Cybersync. I was at 1/250 and F22 to bring down the ambient exposure as much as possible. I see things I would have liked to do better but overall I am pleased for a first try at this. Minor post processing to clear up a few minor blemishes, slightly adjust white balance, clean up a speck or two of sensor dust and sharpen both the skin and the eyes.

Alternate Crop.
both are awesome! I think I like the dramatic crop of this version a little better, but both are great
Yeah, I agree with Faye, the cropped version is bolder. Fine job of balancing the lighting.
Both look great but I like the second crop better I think
Beautiful lighting!!! I can definitely see some resemblance here – lol.

I like the second one as well. Good job.
wow! great capture
This picture is so awesome!! I love my nephew!
You did a fantastic job here. I really know very little about strobist so thanks for sharing what you did. I actually prefer your original crop. The second for me is just a little too in-your-face. Great job.
