Day 150 of 365 – What’s in My Bag

The Other Martin Taylor (from my flickr photo a day group) posted a photo like this yesterday and I always find it interesting to see how others pack their gear and what they carry so I thought I would follow suit.

The bag weighs about 15lbs packed.

These shots are tad blurry, sorry :-(

  1. View of everything in the bag

(There a few more odds and ends in this view but nothing much)

    All packed up

  2. I like the bag ^.^
I have my stuff in a much smaller Lowepro that holds (barely) all three of my lenses, a couple of filters and my remote! I have a non camera bag for the extras! Good thing I don’t use flashes yet! ugh!

  3. You are so ready to do some serious damage!lol

  4. lol, "camera porn"
looks like you are loaded for bear there Jeff :)

  5. That is definitely one packed bag. How do you get your camera out fast if you see something??? :)

  6. haha thanks everyone :)

Tammy — If I know I am going to be shooting, or there is a possibility I might, I just get the camera and the lens I will shoot with ready and have it out before the opportunity presents itself. I usually leave the 70-200 on it but it isn’t hard to swap for the 17-55 in this bag. Anything else is probably going to require a flat surface and more than a couple of minutes of prep time :)

  7. Wow you have WAY more stuff than I do. I have a Lowepro fastback 200 and love the bag as it has a fast access compartment on the side that I can grab my camera out of in seconds. My bag is mostly empty though…I only have two lenses and no other gear except what came standard with the camera.

Yours is definitely camera porn…….must resist shopping….lol

Seen on your photo stream. (?)

  8. Far too much you lucky git!! I´ll just have to wait till mine is as exstensive ;o)

  9. You fit alot in there!

  10. Good idea, mine is lighter ;p

  11. Thanks again everyone for the comments :)

I am thinking of getting a smaller bag for every day stuff and only packing this one when I really need all this stuff. Lugging 15 lbs of gear on the off chance I’ll use it seems kind of silly to me sometimes :)

  12. Ie we love so much equipment that we want to take any and do not forget anything…^^

  13. That’s quite a kit bag. You do well fitting it all in! I know what you mean about not taking everything. I tend to pick about two lenses for any given trip out and leave the rest at home. Can’t be dealing with carrying a majorly heavy bag!

  14. some nice kit, didn’t realise you had a 17-55 2.8… must have missed that or just forgotten, it’s my age. I did a lot of swapping between my 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 on holiday, a total pain and it lets a lot of dust in (esp. on a windy day in Arches NP)

  15. Thanks again all

Hope you had a great trip, looking forward to seeing the pics.

  16. You need a bigger bag :D I got a 300AW for £58 with a free portfolio case.

  17. I actually have a 300aw but I just can’t bring myself to carry it very many places — it just ‘feels’ so much larger.
