I’ve seen similar shots and like them. I think mine turned out OK but I will probably try it again at some point with some different colors.

I’ve never tried a shot like this, I may add it to my list. I agree with sniderscion, the colours you have chosen are more muted than usual, and that’s a good thing. I like the slight noise caused by the ISO of 800, it adds some warmth somehow.
Nice shine off the crayons too.
