My son just started reading the books. He seems to be enjoying them quite a bit. He is certainly reading more avidly than he has in the past

I am working on a new template to replace this one and to be able to display larger images… But I wanted to get some feedback from the few folks who follow this blog if it was going to be too big to comfortably see on your screens or if you thought it was a good idea.

It has the same posts as this one and a couple of them have been re sized to the larger format so you can get an idea of what it will look like. I haven’t worked on the header or the other widget stuff just want to get feedback on the format. On my monitor it works but I am using a 24″ 1920×1200 monitor so….

Edit: and I don’t know quite how i did it but I managed to pooch the links on the sidebar.. will fix them soon.

My wife and I went out to a steakhouse, sans children, for a nice meal. While there, I noticed these interesting chandeliers so I snapped a shot. I converted this in Nik Silver Efex Pro plugin for aperture with a bit of modification to the antique plate ii setting. I rather like how it turned out.

This is a through the window while driving shot tortured significantly in Nik Silver Efex Pro, photoshop and aperture. I am not thrilled with it but I am posting it for my photo a day project.
Today’s shot is not an original idea. I have seen it several times this year. I was going to go for a shallow dof and make it like one of the recent shots I saw from a contact of mine, Concrete Cowboy. But, I liked the colors here so I decided to go with a bigger depth of field and get more of the straws in focus.

Simple and easy today but I liked it. Raindrops on my sunroof.
Today wasn’t the best day ever. Not a lot of time for a photo. But I looked up in the dining room and saw the chandelier and thought I might be able to make something interesting out of it.
I’ll be the first to admit this is a lazy shot. Didn’t have any creative ideas for today so I thought I would just shoot a product shot and this was about all I could think of. That said I kind of like how it turned out.
