Happened to look out the window this evening and saw this little guy (or gal…) out there. So I snapped on my 70-200 and went rabbit hunting. Amazingly he let me get pretty close (this is a crop but I kept 10 out of 18mp) and I managed to get a couple of in focus shots.

When creativity isn’t flowing just shoot…. I don’t think this is particularly interesting, it’s ok mind you… just not all that exciting …
But it was something to get me to drag the gear out and start playing. Quit complaining about not having any creative ideas and just Shut Up and Shoot, in the words of David duChemin.
I made a real mess doing this too so that was fun lol….
See large on my blog if you care to….

Theme Looking Up

Looking up at a light fixture outside my house a very close up macro of the inside of a light bulb in the fixture. The cloudy stuff is the dirt on the bulb and how the light interacts with it.

Strobist Sunday – June 6, 2010 – Needs A Battery
(yes a bit of a stretch based on the theme, but i figure many of the group members will post things that require a AA or two, so feel free to take one of these
)
This is a quicky for the Flickr Strobist Sunday group. I spent all day today watching Zack Arias teaching a studio lighting course online through creativelive.com. I’ll be around on Flickr to comment and stuff on Monday (after this seminar/workshop/whatever is over)
Strobist Info:
580exII 1/2 power behind white paper background.
430EXII 1/8 power through shoot through umbrella camera right.

Theme Hobby or Hobbies
June 7, 2010
I really wanted to do something photography related as I am seemingly obsessed with the subject; but, the assignment here was meant to show us something about each other that we didn’t necessarily know. So I chose to do something based on a ‘hobby’ of sorts that I enjoy a lot.
I have a reasonably long commute, approximately 1 and 1/2 hours a day between the trip to work and the trip home. I find the chitter chatter on the radio occasionally interrupted by songs a bit annoying so I skip it.
I have never been a huge reader; but I have found this commute to be a perfect time to ‘read’. In the past 5 or 6 years I have accumulated over 100 audible audio books and have really enjoyed the break from the radio. If you haven’t tried audio books, and you have a time when you can’t read but listening would work for you give it a try.

We always host a 4th of July get together for the family at my house. We can see the display the city puts on not too far from us from our driveway. I enjoy making photos of the display and my kids are getting excited even though we still have a month to got before this years festivities. So we were looking at the photos from last year and I thought I would post one to flickr. I have posted several others from 7/4/2009 but I am pretty sure I haven’t posted this one before now.

Shot for Strobist Sunday 6/6/2010 – Theme Liquid
This is my first strobist sunday entry. I had a 430 exII camera right on the table beside the glass at 1/64 power. I had a 580 exii aimed at a tablecloth behind the glass on full power. Both without modifiers; I’m kinda lazy that way sometimes
. Triggered both using Cybersyncs.
