Pause

Pause
After finishing 2009 my intention was to go full steam into my new projects this year.   That said, I have decided to take a bit of a break.   I am not finding myself feeling very creative and my efforts have really felt forced.    I am going to step back for a while, hopefully not very long, and see if I can get my photographic mojo going again.    I may be shooting off and on in the interim but I probably won't be posting much, if at all, for a while.

I would appreicate it if those of you who are following me will stick with me.   I will be back; just not sure when yet.

See Ya Soon!

Read The Fine Print

Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperture: f/4.0
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO: 100

Trying to get my photographic mojo back (I haven't shot for several days) I decided to shoot something even if it wasn't something that I would normally shoot. Grabbed these toy glasses, from my son's harry potter halloween costume, and grabbed the latest assessment paperwork from my from my 'friendly' county assessor. Came up with this. My thoughts on it were 'Read the Fine Print' so that is the Title I gave it. I actually sort of like the result. Though I am feeling like these canned lightroom presets are sort of cheating :P.

Hay In A Field

Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/640)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 50 mm

This is an old shot I am processing now because I haven't really shot anything in a couple of days. I should be back and active again on Flickr tomorrow or the next day or so :) I'll catch up with my flickr friends in the next few days.

Bean Day

Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 105 mm
ISO: 100

Large on Black

It seems, as obscure as it is, Bean Day is not without it's controversy. Some say Bean Day is not until April, Some claim it to be January 6th. But at least one source has it squarely on the 5th. So as I move down the road with my This Day in History/Calendar Event project it seemed appropriate to bring to your attention the celebration of Bean Day. Now Go eat your vegtables! :P

Macro Monday 1/4/2010 - New Years Resolutions

Like a lot of people my New Years Resolution this year (or at least one of them) is to lose weight. My diet won't be quite this drastic :P but I did start one today and I plan to start using the gym membership I have been paying for but not using haha.

Old Barn

Camera Model: Canon EOS 40D
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000)
Aperture: f/4.0
Focal Length: 120 mm
ISO: 400

A photo I found while looking through my 2009 photographs and preparing to move my processing over to lightroom. This is a shot I wasn't sure I really liked but I have held onto it this long and I decided I would go ahead and post it as there is something about it I really do enjoy.

Happy New Year

Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
Exposure: 0.077 sec (1/13)
Aperture: f11 Disk
Focal Length: 50 mm (Lensbaby Fisheye 12mm Adapter)
ISO: 400

First off; this picture isn't quite what I had in mind when I took it but I am posting it as it is my first photo for the year :) No where to go but up from here haha.

In addition this is my first posted photo using Lightroom. One of my New Years Resolutions is to learn how to use Lightroom. I am a long time Aperture user and Lightroom is quite foreign to me. Though nearly everyone I know on flickr (at least the ones who mention this sort of thing) uses it. I am hoping to get the hang of it soon but I am going to try to 'force' myself to stay out of Aperture until I get to know Lightroom well enough to decide which I like better.

Finally this is my first real post for my new project (This Day In History/Holiday) for 2010. Obviously this one is representing New Years Day. If you would like to play along with this project feel free to join the group as well.
